What kind of tarot should I get?
So, I want to get a little more into tarot and was looking to buy my own deck and perhaps a book for beginners. Thing is, after surfing around amazon.com for awhile I couldn’t find one that looked just right for me. does anyone have any suggestions on what books and deck would be good for a beginner?

What is the current fee for a Tarot reading done at the reader’s home?

From my travels, and from my time of reviewing various Tarot readers, the price list really does run the gamut.
I’ve seen prices that range from a “by the card” reading at $ 5 a card (so a 3 card reading would cost $ 15, for example) and up to $ 50 for the full blown Celtic cross reading.
For a timed reading, the average cost runs about $ 10 bucks for 10 minutes, so that a full hour would cost $ 60 and a half hour would be around $ 25.
In higher cost areas, expect to pay 10 percent more. In suburban areas, the cost may be less.
If you are seeking a reader, I recommend hitting the tourist areas if you are dead set on getting a live reading, because there’s more competition and there’s likely to be good word of mouth about which readers are better, and the prices will be lower at off-peak seasons. If you are a reader setting prices, I strongly recommend you take these types of things into account. A good, fair reading is more likely to get you return business.
Another option is to find a reader through an established New Age or Wiccan store. They tend to have more personalized readings, are usually cheaper, and since they are somewhat affiliated with the store, at least through reputation, you have a better chance of getting your money’s worth.
Also, it’s worth noting that most readers who work from their homes also set aside a special business area just for such readings. It make expensing, taxes, etc, much easier, and makes the customers more comfortable without the distractions of kids, dogs, etc.

You can find them at New Age bookstores and also regular bookstores although the New Age stores will have more of a selection. They can also be found online. Just google ” Purchase Tarot Cards”
